How to get there
IMPORTANT
De Oude Vismijn is located in a pedestrian-only zone. Do not drive into this area by car. Fines can go up to €350 and can never be recovered from BEAM Health Center or its parent company, Vibrant Lifestyle Collective BV.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
From Gent Sint-Pieters Station, go to the tram stop and take Tram 1. The tram heads to the city center and has 8 stops. The closest stop is Gent Koophandelsplein, located on Zonnestraat. From there, continue walking into the city center. You can walk via Veldstraat to the Korenmarkt and then towards Veerleplein. De Oude Vismijn is located right next to the Gravensteen (Castle of the Counts), which is a great landmark to keep in mind.
From Gent Dampoort Station, take the bus. Several lines go to the city center: line 10, line 11, and line 12. These buses all stop at Gent Sint-Jacobs. From there, you can walk through the Vrijdagmarkt and along the Kraanlei straight to Veerleplein. Again, the Gravensteen is an ideal reference point, as the castle is located very close to De Oude Vismijn.
Always make sure to check the route planner from De Lijn, which is regularly updated.
Parking
- Ramen and Sint-Michiels car parks are a stone’s throw from each other. They are both accessible by the same routes from different directions. Both car parks are less than 500 metres from The Old Fish Market.
- Parking Ramen is open 24/24 hours. There are 280 spaces.
- Parking Sint-Michiels is open 24/24. There are 472 spaces.
